A selection of Enemies Project performances

The Enemies Project has commissioned over 1000 works for performance and publication. The vast majority have initially been for performance or reading, and have been collaborative. The project's associated youtube account currently contains over 1500 videos documenting events around the world. A defining element of the project is that when commissioning works, the content is normally completely free for the artist or poet to create. We aim to pioneer a non-determinate curatorial mode, that offers support and contextual direction, leaving the content up to the participants, aside from duration. This means the work we've produced has been widely varying, though often in the tradition some might call experimental or avant-garde, and we'd call contemporary. The below, a selection of performances, is therefore designed as a sample, unrepresentative, but indicative of the kind of work one can expect at an Enemies event.
